There are a number of hotels around Amsterdam Central station and the surrounding waterfront area. These are convenient since they give easy access to the train station which is good for early departures and late arrivals.
You are also close to other public transport options (metro, trams, ferries and buses) and are within easy walking distance to the centre of Amsterdam.
You pay a slight premium for staying in a centrally-located hotel though you may find a good deal if booking in advance.

Sir ADAM Hotel – [RECOMMENDED] This hip boutique hotel is located in the high rise A’DAM Toren building across the water from Central station. It’s a free GVB ferry ride away from the back of the station. Rooms are industrial chic in design with a rockstar theme – there is a record player in each room and a vinyl library is available. Doubletree by Hilton Amsterdam Central Station – A modern hotel close to the eastern flank of Amsterdam Central station. Rooms are stylish but compact and include an iMac computer rather than TV. Mövenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre – This hotel is located 10 minutes walk east of Central station on the Piet Heinkade and is next to the Amsterdam cruise terminal. Grand Hotel Amrath Amsterdam – This hotel is located across the road from Central station (about 5-10 mins walk). It is housed in the art-deco Shipping House building. Spacious rooms though the decor may not be to everyone’s taste. Note, rooms do not have air conditioning as this is a listed monument. The hotel has a small swimming pool and spa. Nearest supermarket: If requiring supplies, head to the Albert Heijn located at Prins Hendrikkade 20 close to the Ibis Styles hotel.
